Dr. Hampartsoum Barsoumian, Ph.D.

Dr. Hampartsoum Barsoumian (nicknamed HB) is the Founder of Research Guided Cancer Treatment Consults. Dr. Barsoumian received his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA. His research was primarily focused on the development of therapeutic cancer vaccines and immune adjuvants bridging innate and adaptive immunity to eliminate tumors. Prior to that, he completed his Master’s Degree at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, with emphasis on studying innate immune stimulators to boost anti-tumor defense mechanisms.

Dr. Barsoumian's passion towards cancer research and his sincere drive to help cancer patients led him to join The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2016, one of the best cancer centers Nationwide. While at MD Anderson, Dr. Barsoumian completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship and joined the institution as a faculty member. Dr. Barsoumian is a well-published author of over 35 scientific manuscripts in peer reviewed journals, covering both preclinical and clinical studies, and is a holder of several patents.

His current research interests include combining different radiation strategies with immunotherapy to promote systemic/abscopal anti-tumor effects, as well as fine-tuning radiation to modulate the tumor microenvironment to overcome resistance to therapy. Dr. Barsoumian also works closely with pharmaceutical entities and is well informed of new advances in drug discovery.

In three words, his friends describe him as passionate, caring, and knowledgeable.
